Austin Mutual Agribusiness

Austin Mutual Agribusiness was born from the union of two long-established and reputable insurance companies. Cooperative Mutual Insurance Company (CMIC) and Austin Mutual Insurance Company (AMIC) joined forces in January 2011. The intent: to provide superior insurance solutions to agribusiness.

It’s an intent formed from experience. Created in 1935 by agricultural cooperatives for agricultural cooperatives, CMIC’s original mission was to supply its founders with an alternative to high-priced property insurance. Over the years, this Omaha, NE-based company evolved to meet the expanding needs of policyholders/owners in an increasingly complex business environment. In the early 1990s, casualty lines were added to the portfolio. Today we offer a comprehensive package of coverage.

CMIC built a reputation based on relationships, industry-leading services, and fair claims handling. That reputation is now part of Austin Mutual Agribusiness. We go above and beyond offering a package policy and settling claims. Our loss control team brings more than 100 years combined experience to specialties in propane, transportation, safety/compliance, and agronomy, providing recommendations to help diminish risk and control losses.

As the new division of AMIC, Austin Mutual Agribusiness brings the best of both worlds. We continue the commitment to exemplary personal service, responsive claims handling, and innovative and comprehensive loss control products that set CMIC apart—all with the strong financial backing and resources of AMIC.
