Commercial Umbrella Policy
|

|
Commercial Umbrella Policy
Commercial umbrella liability insurance provides a safeguard against the excess third party liability exposure.

Todays operations of a business owner involve a variety of exposures to risks of loss by a third party interest. This is a major concern, with the prevalence of lawsuits and the trend to larger jury awards. A sizable liability loss could have an extremely adverse financial impact on the business operations. Commercial umbrella liability insurance provides a safeguard against the excess third party liability exposure.
Eligibility
Coverage designed to cover the excess liability exposure of small to medium size businesses, is available for a business owner with premises and operations eligible for Businessowners and Commercial Automobile insurance provided by Austin Mutual. This insurance program will provide the primary underlying coverage.
One-Year Policy Term Coverage Description
Commercial umbrella liability coverage for a business operation will pay on behalf of the insured, the ultimate net loss in excess of the underlying limit or self-insured retention ($10,000), whichever is greater, because of:
- Bodily Injury
- Property Damage
- Personal Injury and
- Advertising Injury
Caused by an occurrence which takes place anywhere in the world. It is excess third party liability catastrophe insurance, and not a supplement to inadequate first dollar insurance.
The ultimate net loss is the amount actually paid in the settlement or satisfaction of a loss for which the insured is liable.
|
Limits of Liability
The basic policy limit for commercial umbrella liability coverage is $1,000,000, subject to the following limit of insurance provisions:
- $1,000,000 Each occurrence
- $1,000,000 Personal & Advertising Injury
- $1,000,000 Products-Completed Operations Aggregate
- $1,000,000 General Aggregate
The limits may be increased by $1,000,000 increments to a maximum total limit of $5,000,000.
